Epic Games has officially confirmed that it will offer self-service refunds for any David Anthony Burke (D4vd)-themed items that players have purchased in Fortnite.
The decision comes after the American singer-songwriter was charged with first-degree murder of a 14-year-old girl and sexual abuse.
“We hear the concerns. We have a bunch of changes we’re rolling out over time,†Epic Games stated..
“The first one will be available on Tuesday April 28th, when anyone who purchased one of these items will be able to get an immediate self-service refund. And, right now, players who request refunds for D4vd cosmetics via player support can be refunded.â€
According to Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, a user requested a refund through Epic Games support on September 18, and it was processed earlier today on April 26.
The community has demanded the permanent removal of items related to D4vd; however, there has been no official mention of this so far.
“Hopefully the next change is the removal of all D4vd’s cosmetics all together from the files,†a user said on X (Twitter).
How to Request Refund for D4vd Items
At the moment, there are around 10 D4vd related items in Fortnite and to return them for a refund, click on the player icon in the top-right corner of the game.
Go to Settings, then head to the Account and Privacy section, and select the “Return or Cancel Purchase†option. Find the item you want to return and confirm the refund to receive your V-Bucks back.
