Fans of extraction shooters will soon be able to put their tactical backpack back on. PUBG Corporation is preparing a new test phase for PUBG: Black Budgetits extraction-oriented FPS, and registrations are now open on Steam. A perfect opportunity to discover this more nervous and tense spin-off… provided that your PC does not give up the ghost when loading.

PUBG: Black Budget launches a new playtest on Steam

After a first discreet test phase, PUBG Corporation is doing it again with a second closed alpha of PUBG: Black Budget on PC. The game, which temporarily abandons the classic battle royale to turn to the extraction shooter, therefore continues its development with a new session reserved for certain players.

To try your luck, simply request access to the “PUBG: Black Budget Playtest” directly via the game’s Steam page. Players located in Europe, Asia and North America can participate in this test phase.

On the language side, several options will be available from alpha, including English, Chinese, Korean, Russian and Turkish. Enough to survive a failed extraction in several different languages.

What PC configuration for PUBG: Black Budget?

PUBG: Black Budget does not seem to want to run on an old machine forgotten under a desk since 2014. Here is the minimum configuration required to access the playtest:

  • Windows 11
  • Intel Core i5-8400 ou AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • NVIDIA RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 with 8 GB VRAM
  • 16 Go to RAM
  • DirectX 12
  • 30 GB of disk space

A relatively solid configuration for a playtest, which suggests a fairly technically ambitious game. It now remains to be seen whether PUBG’s extraction gameplay will succeed in finding its place against the big names in the genre.

PUBG: Black Budget

With PUBG: Black Budget, PUBG Corporation is clearly seeking to ride the growing popularity of extraction shooters. Between permanent tension, precious loot and extraction under pressure, the genre attracts more and more players looking for more tactical experiences than the traditional battle royale.

This new playtest will above all allow us to see if the studio has a real identity capable of differentiating PUBG: Black Budget from the competition. And incidentally, to check how many players will forget to look behind them before extraction.
