Chinese automakers continue to add more or less useful features to their high-end models. Huawei’s latest innovation turns headlights into a cinema projector. Ready for an outdoor movie night?
Since its launch in 2023, the Aito M9 has been a success in the Chinese market. It serves as a technological showcase for Huawei, which is starting its automotive business. In addition to multiple screens and driving aids, this high-end family SUV, available in electric or range extender versions, impresses with its lighting.
Integrated LED matrix in its headlights allows it to display various information on the road, for driving aids or navigation. Later, interactive games on the ground or projection of black and white mini-movies on a wall were added.
For the 2026 model of the M9, Huawei significantly improves this headlight projection function: enhanced resolution and the addition of color. This transforms the SUV into a personal drive-in. Additionally, the V2L feature can power the decorative lights and cooler to enhance the atmosphere. This integration fits into the outdoor lifestyle promoted by most SUVs in China, but apparently rarely exploited.
Is it classified as “Totally useless but absolutely essential”?
