The promise of experiencing the Cannes Film Festival without traveling is now a reality at the CGR cinema in Manosque, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the 79th edition of this internationally renowned film festival kicks off.
To celebrate, the cinema, located at Espace Soubeyran, is presenting an “exceptional evening.” Starting at 7:00 pm, the Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony will be broadcast live. The opening film, “The Electric Venus,” directed by Pierre Salvadori and starring Pio Marmaï, Vimala Pons, Anaïs Demoustier, and Gilles Lellouche, will then be premiered. The comedy takes place in Paris in 1982 and follows Antoine Balestro, a young trendy painter who struggles to work since his wife’s death.
This event offers a chance to experience the Cannes Film Festival with a red carpet welcome and a welcome cocktail.
