“The Sainte-Baume forest is much more than a remarkable forest. With its relic beech grove, its centuries-old oaks and its mysterious yews, it fascinates anyone who ventures there.“
It was labeled an Exceptional Forest in 2018, for a period of five years, thanks to the solid partnership built between the PNR and the National Forestry Office (ONF). A collaboration which encouraged the two entities to look to the future to obtain the renewal of the label for the period 2025-2029. A project led by Grégory Dron, NFB manager of the Sainte-Baume site, and submitted to the National Orientation Committee, which issued a favorable opinion on this renewal.
The label distinguishes public forests recognized for their heritage value and the quality of their sustainable management. To celebrate this renewal, a ceremony was organized on the meadow of the Sainte-Baume hostellerie, in the presence of elected officials, institutional partners and local stakeholders.
