Thousands of users across India and globally reported problems accessing Google Search on Monday morning, with many encountering blank pages, failed search results and “server error†messages while trying to use the platform.
According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, complaints surged around 10:23 am IST, crossing more than 3,300 reports at the peak of the disruption. A majority of the complaints were linked to Google Search, while several users also flagged issues related to loading content and accessing the website.
Downdetector data showed that nearly 57% of users reported problems with Search functionality. Around 28% said content was not loading properly, while another 11% faced website-related issues.Â

Users attempting to access Google Search were shown an error message stating: “Server Error. We’re sorry but it appears that there has been an internal server error while processing your request. Our engineers have been notified and are working to resolve the issue. Please try again later.â€Â
The error message indicated a 500 Internal Server Error, suggesting the issue was likely on Google's end rather than with users' devices or internet connections.
Users across both smartphones and desktop devices reported seeing the same “server error†message, suggesting the disruption was affecting Google Search services more broadly rather than isolated devices or networks. The widespread nature of the outage quickly fuelled speculation online about a larger system issue. Google had not issued an official statement on the reason behind the disruption or how long the outage lasted at the time of reporting.
The issue quickly triggered reactions across social media platforms, with users posting screenshots of the error page and sharing memes about the rare disruption.

Another user reacted with humour, writing: “GOOGLE IS DOWN. The internet is experiencing an unscheduled moment of silence.
