As many celebrities do, Laurent Voulzy needs peace and quiet to create. It is only natural that the musician has decided to exile himself far from the French capital in a place well appreciated by stars. He has chosen the village of Kerhostin, on the renowned peninsula of Quiberon. He owns a house facing the ocean with a unique story.

The Laurent Voulzy house in Quiberon, a very special property

Although Laurent Voulzy has been in the village for a long time, he did not always live in the same place. A local source revealed to PurePeople, “He first had a very small house in the village, and then, when the large house called La Roche Noire, an emblematic property of Kerhostin, was put up for sale, he bought it.” And it seems that this place is idyllic: “It’s a house on a hill, you can see it from the beach. He did enormous work, which not everyone liked at the time, but the result is nice.”

With this house, Laurent Voulzy has not only secured a piece of tranquility but also a piece of history. Why? Because this building “sheltered several painters in the 19th century.” The list includes Maxime Maufra, Léon Duval-Gozlan, and the American Maurice Herter, all artists close to the famous Paul Gauguin.

Absolute tranquility for the singer

Despite being a celebrity, Laurent Voulzy feels comfortable in the village of Kerhostin, where he can have a normal life with his family. A resident of the village recalls, “They were not people who hid, on the contrary. They were calm here, there is a kindness from the locals towards the celebrities.”

This sentiment is echoed by the manager of the bakery Maison Boblique in Saint-Pierre Quiberon. According to him, the singer is “very discreet” with “simple habits” like walks on the beach, for example. Laurent Voulzy seems to have found his routine in the area. “He likes the wild side of the area, the fact that there are no onlookers here to bother him. He still lives in his house La Roche Noire and often comes to the shop. We have specialties that he really enjoys: Far Breton, Kouign-amann,” recounts the merchant.

And this paradise is also an opportunity for the star to focus on his art: “He likes to come out of season, in winter for example, to experience the real life of the people of the peninsula. He also comes to write, find inspiration, and peace.” Nonetheless, he doesn’t hesitate to have some fun in music, says a resident. She explains that the artist never misses a chance to attend the festival Fest-Noz at the beginning of August in Kerhostin, organized by the village association. A beautiful life for the star!
