On Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m., the Puigmal cinema will host Maxime Rey who will present “Partir”, his documentary film that follows his three-year bike tour around the world.
This cinema event is organized by the Pyrénées-Cerdagne community of municipalities, celebrating the national event “Mai à vélo”, dedicated to promoting cycling in all its forms. Throughout a three-year bike journey, Maxime Rey traveled around the world: 57,000 kilometers and 52 countries. From scorching deserts to Himalayan passes, he crossed extreme landscapes and experienced unforgettable encounters throughout his adventure. With his bike, he takes the viewer on a quest for slowness at the heart of a fast-paced world, an immersion into humanity at handlebar height, in a universal human adventure: the discovery of the world and oneself, guided by a deep aspiration: to depart. “Spectators will dive into a inspiring human and cycling adventure, exploring new horizons through the power of their legs,” explain Axelle Soubielle and Adrien Thillard from the intermunicipality.
The screening will be followed by a time of exchange and discussion with Maxime Rey, “offering everyone the opportunity to share their dreams of escape, discuss soft mobility, or ask questions about bike travel.” (Note: Normal rate. Information at 04 68 04 15 47.)
