Organized as part of the Franco-German Fortnight in Occitania, this morning event led by Catherine Alix-Panabières, a professor at the University Hospital of Montpellier, will bring together French and German speakers at Domaine de Verchant to exchange views on important health and innovation issues.
On Monday, April 13, Domaine de Verchant will host a Franco-German meeting focusing on two themes: the advances of liquid biopsy in cancer management and the role of women in leadership in medical research.
Catherine Alix-Panabières, an internationally recognized figure, specializes in circulating tumor cells and liquid biopsy. She heads the Laboratory of Rare Human Circulating Cells and Liquid Biopsy and focuses on detectable tumor biomarkers in the blood, offering new possibilities for more personalized, precocious, and targeted oncology medicine.
An illuminating researcher
The first round table will discuss how the care of cancer patients can be enhanced through a simple blood test, using the advancements in liquid biopsy and personalized medicine. The second round table will examine the position of women in leadership in medical research, bringing together experiences from France and Germany.
Beyond its scientific aspect, this meeting will shed light on the journey and dedication of a researcher who is spreading the reputation of Montpellier beyond its borders. In a Franco-German context, it will also allow for the exchange of perspectives and experiences.
Program: The day will begin with a coffee welcome at 8:30 to 9:00 am, followed by the first round table from 9:15 to 10:40 am, and the second round table from 10:55 am to 12:10 pm. A networking lunch will follow from 12:10 to 1:40 pm, leading to a press conference scheduled from 1:45 to 2:30 pm.
