On December 28th, Brigitte Bardot passed away at the age of 91. Despite her passing, the French icon continues to live on in the hearts of her many fans. Proof of this can be seen in the number of people who come to pay their respects at her grave in the sea cemetery of Saint-Tropez. The cemetery guards told Le Parisien, “Come rain or shine, there are always people asking where BB’s grave is! From the morning, there’s a continuous flow of people: French and many foreigners.”

It is impossible to mention Brigitte Bardot without mentioning Saint-Tropez. The star spent her final days at La Madrague, her famous property in Saint-Tropez. She also owned La Garrigue, which was transformed into an animal sanctuary. And that’s not all. The former rival of Jane Birkin also owned a magnificent Art Deco apartment of over 400 square meters, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. This apartment is currently up for sale by the Kretz.

A portrait of Brigitte Bardot by Andy Warhol is set to be sold at auction. While the sale of her apartment is expected to bring in several million euros, the same is true for this portrait. In the show “C à vous” on Friday, April 10th, journalist Amandine Bégot revealed details about this unique work of art. It is a portrait of Brigitte Bardot, created by Andy Warhol. The artwork is currently on display at Sotheby’s Paris for a week. It was commissioned by billionaire Gunter Sachs, known for being BB’s third husband.

“There are seven others like this one, in different colors. The businessman requested these from Andy Warhol after his split with the star, and they had never been shown to the public until now,” explained Amandine Bégot. In a report aired on the show, we can hear Thomas Bompard, the co-director of Sotheby’s France Modern and Contemporary department, saying, “Gunter Sachs was so obsessed with Brigitte that in 1974, six years after their divorce, he went to his friend Andy Warhol and ordered eight portraits of his ex-wife, based on the image of Richard Avedon, the great photographer.”

The value of Brigitte Bardot’s portrait is estimated to be between 14 and 18 million dollars. This exquisite sum will have to be paid by the future buyer at a minimum. However, the bidding could soar high. The portrait of Brigitte Bardot will be presented in London from April 19th to 21st, then auctioned in New York in May.
