The Toulon Defense Event returns on April 23, 2026, at the Palais des Sports with over 5,000 job offers for all profiles.
The defense sector, a strategic pillar of national sovereignty, is experiencing a major expansion phase, leading to growing recruitment needs. To respond to this dynamic, France Travail, the Center for Information and Recruitment of the Armed Forces (CIRFA), and the Employment Network are organizing the new edition of the Toulon Defense Event. This event, which has become a key event in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, will take place on April 23 at the Palais des Sports in Toulon with a clear objective: to directly connect candidates and recruiters in a sector that offers over 5,000 positions to fill.
Var, a unique defense ecosystem
The choice of Toulon to host this event is not random. As the leading military department in France, Var is home to the main naval defense base in the Mediterranean and represents an unmatched economic and industrial ecosystem. The defense sector accounts for 31,000 direct jobs, with an additional 13,000 indirect jobs, supporting a network of nearly 2,500 local companies. This concentration of skills and infrastructure creates a growth dynamic that experts believe will significantly strengthen in the coming years, consolidating the region’s role as a center of excellence.
A variety of careers for all paths
Far from stereotypes, the defense and public security sector offers a range of over 200 professions suitable for a wide variety of profiles. The event is aimed at a broad audience: young people seeking guidance, students, job seekers, as well as those considering a career change. All levels of qualification are welcome, from candidates without diplomas to those with a Master’s degree. Visitors will have the chance to meet representatives from different armed forces branches (Army, Air Force, Navy), public security agencies (gendarmerie, police), the civilian defense sector, and the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), providing a comprehensive view of possible careers.
An immersive experience to inspire vocations
Spanning over 3,000 square meters, the Toulon Defense Event aims to be more than just a recruitment forum. It offers a real immersion into the professions to allow visitors to test, understand, and visualize. Flight and aerobatics simulators, drone demonstrations, activities with K-9 teams, and presentations of innovative naval technologies will animate the day. These practical workshops aim to make the missions of professionals concrete and provide valuable networking opportunities that may spark new vocations.
A direct gateway to employment
With over 80 expected exhibitors and nearly 4,000 anticipated visitors, the event is designed as a recruitment accelerator. Thousands of interviews can be conducted on the spot, facilitating a swift transition from the first meeting to a concrete job.
“The defense sector today offers solid and diverse career prospects, accessible at all qualification levels. With the Toulon Defense Event, our ambition is to make these professions tangible, highlight their diversity, and allow everyone, through direct meetings with recruiters, to envision a sustainable job,” emphasizes Angélique Ricordel-Papin, Departmental Director of France Travail Var.
