The boogeyman who lost his glasses, Santa Claus’ complexes, or a date with a mermaid, these are some of the stories that Astian Bös sets to music. The musician from Alençon (Orne) has just released his second album, Les démons domestiques. “This allowed me to establish my universe,” says the artist. “My songs tell the stories of fantastical characters. I twist them to talk about social issues but also more personal subjects,” details the artist who has now turned to more narrative pop songs.

Fantastical characters twisted

“My lyrics are in French and I try to find catchy, engaging, and easy-to-memorize tunes,” emphasizes the artist who carefully crafts his melodies. For his second album, the singer-songwriter decided to vary the styles blending rock, electro, and symphonic influences with violins.

Some songs are also acoustic, reminiscent of his first album As Soon As the Owl Hoots released in 2021 after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Better accompanied

“Each song has a different color,” assures the musician who also invited a female singer and an accordion player to collaborate on the album. Another major difference, Astian Bös surrounded himself to create this new record. “During the first album, I did everything on my own. Now, I have surrounded myself and delegated,” smiles the artist who started playing the piano at 8 years old.

For these new tracks, he was assisted by Chris Grisard, a musician and experienced composer from Damigny. He took care of the album’s arrangements and provided many tips to the amateur singer. “The CD will be available at my concerts, but the tracks are already available on music platforms,” concludes the artist who will be on stage at the Music Festival in Carrouges and Alençon.
