Great delivery! The United Kingdom will supply 120,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of the year, making it the largest drone delivery program ever conducted for Ukraine to date, according to the British government website.
This delivery, which began this month, includes thousands of long-range strike drones, intelligence and reconnaissance drones, logistical drones, and maritime capability drones, all of which have been tested in combat in Ukraine.
The British Ministry of Defence stated in its press release that these drones are “essential for Ukrainian counter-attacks along the front line in recent months, as well as their defense against incessant Russian attacks.” The press release specifically mentions that 6,500 one-way attack drones were launched by Russia against Ukraine in March 2026, a significant increase from the total recorded in February.
£3 billion program
“As Putin enters his fifth year of brutal war, the UK is stepping up its commitment and providing a record number of drones to Ukraine this year,” commented Defence Minister John Healey. “While the focus has been on the Middle East in recent weeks, Putin wants to distract us, but the Ukrainians continue to fight with immense courage and nothing will deter us from our unwavering support until peace is secured,” he added.
This new drone program is part of the overall £3 billion British military support to Ukraine this year. The Defence Minister also confirmed that the UK will provide hundreds of thousands of artillery shells and thousands of air defense missiles to Ukraine in 2026.
