Disney unveils Infinity Vision, a global label that helps the public identify premium theaters with giant screens, laser image, and immersive sound.
During CinemaCon, The Walt Disney Studios announced the creation of Infinity Vision, a label for large format cinemas. The company relies on a network of partner operators to harmonize technical criteria and make these spaces more readable for the public.
Infinity Vision is based on a selection of precise requirements. It first prioritizes screens of very large dimensions to enhance visual impact. It then requires the use of laser projection to guarantee a brighter and sharper image. Finally, it incorporates advanced audio solutions to ensure enveloping sound reproduction.
The group states that several hundred premium theaters already exist worldwide, including a significant portion in the American market. In this context, this label aims to simplify the identification of these facilities when purchasing tickets, whether online or directly at the box office.
Infinity Vision will also accompany some releases from Marvel Studios. The re-release of Avengers: Endgame will kick off this phase in September, followed by Avengers: Doomsday at the end of the year. Audiences will be able to choose certified theaters to experience conditions in line with the intentions set during production.
In parallel, Disney plans to provide support for operators, including dedicated communication elements. Participating cinemas will display this label on their materials, making it easier to recognize and reinforcing the coherence of technical standards within premium theaters.
