The 9th edition will open the burons from May to September with an eclectic artistic program unveiled at Aumont-Aubrac station.

There were once again very numerous partners of the “Nuits des Burons” to announce the program for the 9th edition last Monday at Re’Peyre, the Aumont-Aubrac station renovated into a local products shop. “A train station is a curious way to talk about the Nuits des Burons,” introduced Marc Guibert, vice-president of the Aubrac regional natural park which is organizing the event. “We are taking global action to preserve the heritage of Aubrac, all heritage. This unusual place is now experiencing a second life, like the burons, these old summer pasture cheese factories, which are gradually being renovated and are coming back to life in a different way. »

The culture to innovate and renovate the burons

The choice of this location is also a nod to the work done to promote the Aubrac train, which was a great success last year, and which will continue this year.

It’s a rich and joyful program like the surname of the Park’s culture manager, Laurent Joyeux, which relies on a multitude of partners. Every Night, each proposal is built like this, with the living forces which each year take a little more ownership of this cultural event which puts the burons of Aubrac and pastoralism in the spotlight. “The role of the Park in the territory is clearly felt through the Nuits des Burons: connecting and bringing together ultra-local stakeholders to create a program that meets their aspirations and highlights all the heritage of Aubrac, tangible and intangible, pastoralism, landscapes, music, live shows but also biodiversity, geology, Occitan culture,” continues Jean-Pierre Kircher, elected in charge of culture at the Park.

“The burons of Aubrac are the tangible trace of the agropastoralism which continues in Aubrac and celebrated by UNESCO this year”, recalls Michel Guiral, new president of the community of communes of the Hautes Terres de l’Aubrac who joined the presentation of the event alongside Alain Astruc, mayor of the village and elected representative of the Park. “I knew the burons in their primary function, my brother was a “role”, cheesemaker’s assistant at the Camejane buron. Highlight, animate, revive the burons like you do, I find it wonderful! Bravo for your respective commitments,” he concluded.
