Culture and Health Program: launch in Marseille

A high-level official presentation

The launch of this program will be enhanced by the presence of several major institutional personalities. Jacques Witkowski, Prefect of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, the President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and Deputy President of the Regions of France, Yann Bubien, Director are expected to attend. General of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, as well as François Crémieux, Director General of the AP-HM. Their joint presence underlines the commitment of the highest authorities of the State and communities to this transversal initiative.

Art as a vector of well-being

The program “Culture and Health” aims to make culture accessible to the entire community in health. It is therefore aimed not only at patients and residents of health and medico-social establishments, but also at their families, carers and all healthcare staff. The objective is to support and accompany the deployment of cultural initiatives throughout the regional territory. By promoting partnerships between care structures and local cultural actors, the program aims to humanize places of care, create social bonds and offer moments of escape and comfort.

A shared territorial ambition

Developed and adapted specifically for the territory, this system is the result of close collaboration between three major institutional players: the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DRAC), the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region. This synergy aims to structure and perpetuate cultural actions in health environments, by ensuring a coherent territorial network and guaranteeing the quality of the artistic projects proposed. The event on June 10 will be an opportunity to detail the terms of this partnership and the program’s development prospects for the years to come.
