The Hérouville-Saint-Clair carnival is back on Sunday, April 12, 2026 with an engaging and festive theme: “Overseas & Oceans”. Between spectacular parades, artistic creations, and ecological awareness actions, this free event promises a day full of emotions and discoveries.

As a popular folk celebration, the carnival of Hérouville-Saint-Clair marks the end of winter each year in a satirical and joyful atmosphere. For several hours, the city turns into a space of freedom where humor, creativity, and derision are celebrated.

For the 2026 edition, the theme “Overseas & Oceans” highlights both the richness of overseas cultures and the environmental challenges related to the fragility of the oceans. The floats and animations will immerse spectators in a maritime world while encouraging reflection on the impact of human activities on the planet.

The carnival is based on a remarkable intergenerational mobilization: children, students, workers, and seniors all participate in its preparation. Mixity, sharing, and commitment are at the heart of this human adventure.

Supported by artists like Enrique Gomez, the participants have imagined poetic and engaging universes, addressing issues such as plastic pollution in the oceans.

From 11 a.m., the Fonderie site will come to life with numerous activities: creative workshops, children’s entertainment, artistic demonstrations, and food stalls.

The start of the grand parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. The program includes spectacular floats, marching bands, percussion, and groups inspired by overseas cultures. The celebration will continue until late afternoon with a grand musical and festive finale.
