“I’ve never seen such a big decline”: Although Intel CPU sales show some signs of life, Mindfactory sees a significant drop

We reported at the end of March that processor sales were plummeting, at least at German reseller Mindfactory. According to figures from TechEpiphany, CPU sales in week 13 of 2026 were the lowest on record. Unfortunately, the situation doesn’t appear to have improved in weeks 14 and 15, as TechEpiphany reports that they “have never seen such a significant drop” in 10 years of tracking CPU sales.

In weeks 14 and 15, Minfactory sold a total of 860 AMD Ryzen CPUs at an average selling price (ASP) of 390 euros and 140 Intel CPUs at an ASP of 246 euros. In terms of revenue, AMD CPUs accounted for 90.26% of total revenue, while Intel CPUs accounted for only 9.74%.

Looking at the different generations of CPUs, AMD’s Zen 5 was the most sold with 645 units in total, followed by Zen 4 with 105 units and Intel Core Ultra 200 CPUs with 90 units.

We mentioned in our previous report that, thanks to the excellent price/performance ratio of the Core Ultra 200S Plus Arrow Lake Refresh, we could see better Intel CPU sales. It appears that this is now the case, as TechEpiphany reports that Intel CPU demand has improved slightly due to the expansion of total Core Ultra 200 supply.

Overall, things aren’t looking good for the DIY PC market. The consumer technology market, including phones and laptops, desperately needs the price of DRAM and storage to come down so the situation doesn’t get worse.
