AMD is extending its Advanced Shader Delivery support to its entire RDNA range, from the first generations to the most recent. This technology, resulting from the partnership with Microsoft, promises significant gains in loading times and fluidity. PC gamers equipped with Radeon cards can now enjoy it via the Xbox PC application.

Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery comes to all AMD RDNA GPUs

Microsoft’s Advanced Shader Delivery technology is now generally available through the Xbox PC app. Graphics cards based on AMD’s RDNA architectures can benefit from this on the latest games.

Microsoft and AMD strengthen their collaboration to improve the experience of PC gamers. This partnership is reflected in the deployment of Advanced Shader Delivery on discrete and integrated GPUs in the RDNA family.

Among the first titles to benefit from it, Forza Horizon 6 sees loading times reduced by 95%. Where previously it took a minute and a half, the game now launches in just 4 seconds on a configuration with a Radeon RX 7600 and a Ryzen 7 5800.

Here is the full list of games compatible with Advanced Shader Delivery:

  • Ark Survival Ascended

In addition to accelerating loadings, ASD also limits micro-stutters linked to shader compilation, for a smoother experience. The advantage is that this technology is accessible to all RDNA generations, from the first to the fourth. Here are the minimum configurations required:

System requirements:

To use Advanced Shader Delivery, your system must meet these minimum specifications:

Système d’exploitation : Windows 11 24H2 or later

Xbox Gaming Services : 37.113.11003.0 or higher (Microsoft Store > Library > Update Gaming Services)

Graphics card: Architectures AMD RDNA 1, RDNA 2, RDNA 3, RDNA 3.5, RDNA 4

Pilot : Adrenalin 26.6.1 or newer

Microsoft has already released its latest DirectX Agility SDK, allowing developers to integrate ASD. They can thus upload the necessary data to the Xbox Partner Center to activate shader pre-compilation. The software giant plans to expand ASD support to more Windows devices and other hardware in the coming months.
