Every companion in this batch requires a different tactical approach if you want to turn their passive traits into a winning edge. They sit right alongside the legacy versions you’ve been farming, so learning how to deploy them effectively is paramount.
The Striker Sprite
The Striker Sprite is tied to the brand-new Soccer Pitch POI arriving in the same June 25 update. Before you waste your time running around the field aimlessly, make sure you actually score a goal to satisfy the explicit unlock condition. Once it’s in your inventory, it triggers the Overdrive status every single time you mantle a ledge or hurdle an obstacle. It completely changes the flow of close-quarters box fights since your basic parkour mechanics automatically turn into a potent combat buff.
The Grim Reaper Sprite
If you’re tired of getting chipped down by snipers hiding on a distant ridge, the Grim Reaper is going to be your absolute favorite tool. The moment an enemy damages you, this companion instantly pings their location on your map. It strips away the safety of long-range ambushes and rewards aggressive defensive play by letting you turn around and hunt down the person who shot you before they can even reload.
The Boss Sprite
Getting your hands on the Boss Sprite means you’ll have to go toe-to-toe with the seasonal bosses roaming the island. The drop rate isn’t guaranteed, so don’t expect it to fall on your first attempt. When it finally drops, it rewards you with a direct boost to your maximum health and shield capacity, making it a very straightforward survivability option for the endgame.
The Fishy and Aura Sprites
The Fishy Sprite handles aquatic encounters by boosting your baseline swim speed. It also hands you an immediate movement acceleration whenever you take damage, giving you a viable escape route when an engagement goes sideways in the open.
The Aura Sprite is the big wildcard of the group. It grants you a Shock Rock charge, but only after you pass a specific damage threshold during combat. Epic Games hasn’t fully detailed the exact damage numbers or the behavior of the Shock Rock mechanic yet, so treat its current status as a work in progress that will require some active field testing on launch day.
The Weekly Drop Structure
The June 25 launch is just the opening salvo for the summer. The Gone Wild event is structured so that fresh Sprites will continue dropping into rotation every single Thursday.
These weekly updates are going to include special variants from the existing pools, meaning you’ll need to stay on top of the higher tiers.
