On the occasion of highlighting the role of schools in education: “I was lucky enough to study and pass the exam to become a math and science teacher in a vocational high school.” His career then took a turn near the Garonne, and in 2018, he became a principal in Gironde. “An old student even called me to ask if I would marry him!”

Foot and Licra
“For me, there is a very close connection between education and culture. The republican pact applies through the school, even though social determinism remains very important. That’s why I got involved in the associative world very early on, to try to contribute, encourage, and value those who want to succeed.” President of a student association in Poitiers, he joined a football school that once united Foulayronnes and Pont-du-Casse, playing as a goalkeeper until September 13, 2013, the fateful day when he suffered a torn cruciate ligament.

With the free time he gained, he joined Licra (International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism), becoming president of the local chapter for fifteen years. He only resigned to follow Laurent Bruneau: “I believed in the man, in his power to unite us, we share common values.”

Should we expect changes to ongoing projects? “We are committed to continuity and I have visited all cultural venues. We were labeled as extreme left during the campaign, but my goal is to unite.” The elected official plans to build a house for citizenship and associative life, with a single window and a designated person, but like his colleagues, he is waiting for the financial audit requested by Laurent Bruneau. He also mentions “a cultural assembly to create participatory and permanent democracy, and to involve actors in the cultural sector, working horizontally with them.” As for the ongoing museum renovation project, Nasser Menni has not yet discussed it with those involved.

The elected official has no intention of breaking away, but only confirms that in 2026, we will experience the last Agen festivities in their current form, which will be replaced by a free popular celebration, “while also keeping an eye on public funds. Culture holds a significant place in our program, but we must also be rigorous.”
