The famous battle royale PUBG is joining forces with the Payday franchise to offer a new cooperative game mode focused on heists. Between infiltration, choice of classes and exclusive tournament for content creators, this unexpected collaboration promises to shake up players’ habits.
Since its emergence almost ten years ago, PUBG has established itself as the undisputed pioneer of battle royale. If the title has multiplied the sometimes surprising collaborations in recent years, from Lamborghini to Blackpink, its new partnership with Starbreeze Entertainment promises to be much more in line with its DNA. By partnering with the famous Payday franchise, shooter temporarily shifts from large-scale survival to a high-risk, cooperative heist experience. An initiative which proves that the studio is constantly seeking to renew its formula to maintain the engagement of its vast community. This new mode will be accessible to players from May 12 to June 10.
A game mode that reinvents cooperation
Available for a limited time, this new mode soberly called Payday invites players to form teams to plan and execute daring heists. The objective is no longer to be the last survivor, but to infiltrate highly secure buildings, steal valuable targets like safes or sensitive data, and escape in one piece.
To succeed, coordination and strategy are essential. Participants must choose from five distinct classes: Assault, Medic, Tank, Marksman and Ghost. This specialization requires real reflection on the composition of the team. For example, it is possible to favor brute force to deal with guards, or on the contrary to rely on absolute discretion thanks to the Ghost class to avoid any enemy detection.
The missions take place in several new urban environments, such as The Exchange, Diamond District, Nightclub or Road Rage. Each scenario offers complete freedom of approach, allowing squads to dynamically adapt if a silent infiltration suddenly turns into full-blown armed confrontation.
As previously said, this major collaboration will be available from May 12 to June 10, giving the community time to discover this event. And if the players respond now, it is not impossible that others will emerge later. This is not the first event for Payday, which recently launched a version on Roblox.
