Ranked mode focuses more on survival
PUBG wants to replace the survival at the center of his competitive experience. With this update, Season 42 will last three months in order to better observe the effects of the new system.
The calculation of ranking points (RP) evolves. The final ranking at the end of a match will now carry more weight, encouraging players to stay alive longer rather than just chasing eliminations.

In normal games, the total duration of matches remains the same, but the later stages should become more intense. The final combat zones are reworked to create more confrontations.
In ranked mode, certain phases are shortened in order to make the games more fluid.
Damage will no longer depend on distance
Calculating the damage of the Blue zone changes too.
From now on, damage will no longer increase depending on the distance from the safe zone. They will progress according to the time spent in the Blue Zone.
This change aims to reduce the advantage of players who stay on the edge of the zone for a long time and to make confrontations more fair.
Interactive fog is coming too
Update 42.1 finally adds several new features.
