Last November, the preview of the film “Planètes” attracted more than 150 people. The film, directed by Momoko Seto and co-written by the screenwriter and writer from Decazeville, Alain Layrac, won several awards: the Fipresci Prize from the international critics at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 and the Paul-Grimaud Prize at the Annecy 2025 Festival. It also received support from the GAN foundation.
“Planètes” is a film for all audiences, especially for young people and children, as well as their parents and grandparents. It tells the story of four dandelion seeds (akènes), survivors of a nuclear explosion that propels them into the cosmos. They embark on a journey to find fertile soil to grow, encountering dangers and various encounters along the way.
The film is dialogue-free, relying on sound effects and music to give voice to the small plants. The stunning visuals, shot in France, Japan, and Iceland, showcase innovative cinematic techniques. Released nationally on March 11, 2026, “Planètes” will be screened at La Strada during these spring holidays: Wednesday, April 22 at 4:30 PM; Friday, April 24 at 2:15 PM; Saturday, April 25 at 2:30 PM; and Tuesday, April 28 at 2:15 PM.
A film to watch alone, with friends, or with family…
