A tragic accident. On April 11th, while swimming laps in a Parisian gym she frequented, Nadia Farès suffered a cardiac arrest. Another swimmer alerted authorities after not seeing her resurface for several minutes. Despite prompt emergency response, the actress passed away a few days later at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. Her sudden death has left a void in the hearts of her two daughters, Shana and Cylia, as well as her showbiz friends who attended her funeral on April 24, 2026 at the Saint-Jean-de-Montmartre Church in Paris. Some celebrities were notably absent, such as singer and actor Patrick Bruel, who was well acquainted with Nadia Farès…
Why did Patrick Bruel skip Nadia Farès’ funeral?
Patrick Bruel and Nadia Farès had known each other for years. They had posed together during the premiere of the play “Quadrille” at the Edouard VII Theatre in Paris on December 12, 2011. They were often seen socializing together, along with other friends. However, despite this friendship, Patrick Bruel did not attend Nadia Farès’ funeral. According to reports from “Voici” magazine, currently on newsstands starting May 15th, Patrick Bruel chose to stay out of the public eye due to serious allegations against him. Five complaints have been filed against him for offenses spanning 1991 to 2019, including rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault. Therefore, the singer decided not to attend Nadia Farès’ funeral in order to pay a more discreet tribute.
How does Patrick Bruel respond to the serious accusations against him?
In addition to formal complaints against Patrick Bruel, nearly thirty women have come forward against the singer and actor, primarily in publications like Mediapart and Elle magazine. Some of his accusers include Daniela Elstner, Karine Viseur, and Ophélie Fajfer, each detailing incidents of abuse allegedly involving Patrick Bruel. In a statement released on March 19, 2026, his lawyer denied the allegations, stating that Patrick Bruel never sought to force anyone into a sexual act. As three preliminary investigations are currently open in Paris, Saint-Malo, and Brussels, it is now up to the justice system to shed light on the matter.
