Hai Phong will organize many cultural and street entertainment activities in front of the Municipal Theater.

On the morning of April 14th, Mr. Le Trung Kien, member of the City Party’s Permanent Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, chaired a meeting to hear a report on the organization plan for a series of activities in the area in front of the municipal center (also known as downtown promenade) as part of the Red Phoenix Flower Festival – Hai Phong 2026 with the theme “Hai Phong – Convergence – Radiation.”

In conclusion of the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, Le Trung Kien, emphasized that the series of activities organized in the downtown area plays a crucial role as a highlight of the festival and must therefore be carefully and methodically prepared to ensure its attractiveness and efficiency.

Ministries, agencies, and local authorities involved must conduct a thorough review of scenarios and organizational plans; focus on expanding space and creating destinations more suitable for various population needs; concentrate on beautifying the landscape and creating a modern and harmonious urban appearance in event areas.

Organizational work must be linked to ensuring security and order, road safety, and effective management of service activities; the development of distinctive culinary products associated with Hai Phong’s gastronomic circuits; the enhancement of international cultural and culinary exchanges; the implementation of clear, healthy-themed artistic programs combining tradition and modernity, and promoting the role of young artists and community activities.

The cultural space Hai Phong Street Food and Art 2026 will be held from May 7th to 13th around the municipal center and will be open every day from 6pm to midnight.

One of the highlights was the opening ceremony on the evening of May 7th in the municipal center square, featuring a grand opening ritual combined with a large-scale artistic program using modern music and dynamic arrangements, creating an impressive opening atmosphere for all events.

Throughout the event, the main stage in front of the municipal center will be continuously illuminated by thematic artistic performances. On May 8th, the musical evening “Young talents of Hai Phong” will be presented to children. On May 9th, the parade “Hai Phong: Quintessence of Heritage” will take place in the late afternoon, followed by the opening ceremony of the 4th Hai Phong International Puppet Festival 2026.

From May 10th to 13th, street music programs organized by the city’s cultural, film, and exhibition center will feature many young artists and groups, presenting a young and modern style.

Alongside artistic performances, a large culinary space with approximately 18 standard stands has been set up in two zones: “Traditional Space” and “Modern Space.”

The “Traditional Space” recreates Hai Phong’s traditional culinary culture, showcasing emblematic dishes such as crab noodle soup, crab spring rolls, Cot Den bread sandwiches, Tu Ky mudskippers, etc., along with demonstrations and practical cooking workshops.

Meanwhile, “Today’s Space” is a hub for food brands, restaurants, and service businesses offering modern and innovative products, contributing to a diverse and attractive culinary landscape.

The central space also features many interactive activities, such as street shows, performances of popular and contemporary art, musical exchanges, modern dance, DJ performances, etc. Shows are flexibly arranged on the main stage and interspersed in the dining area, creating continuity and enhancing participants’ experience.

These activities aim to strengthen community engagement by encouraging residents and tourists to directly participate in and experience the festivities, helping spread the festive atmosphere and promote the image of a dynamic and welcoming city.

With careful preparation and rich content, the proposed series of activities in the downtown area is expected to become a highlight of the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2026, attracting a large number of visitors and tourists and enhancing the city’s tourism status and brand image.
