Resting last week, Alexis Lebrun and Simon Gauzy still moved in the new ranking published this Tuesday. The elder of the Lebrun brothers drops one spot (12th) while Simon Gauzy gains one place, returning to the Top 20 (20th).
Despite no competition, the ranking changed nonetheless. Just like Felix Lebrun, Alexis Lebrun, and Simon Gauzy were not part of the participants at the Chinese WTT Contender event, the only one on the calendar for the week aside from a few Feeder tournaments (lower level, equivalent to the Challenger circuit in tennis).
Also absent in China, the elder of the Lebrun brothers and Gauzy, who had caused a sensation (and had one of the most beautiful moments of his career at 31 years old) last November at the WTT Champions in Frankfurt by defeating the Brazilian Hugo Calderano, world number 3, in four sets, indirectly feel the impact of this event won by the Chinese Wen Ruibo over the Japanese Maharu Yoshimira.
The former takes advantage of this title to climb one place and reach the 11th position, which was previously held by Alexis Lebrun. The double winner of the European Top 16 has therefore slightly declined and now appears in 12th place.
Felix Lebrun, on the other hand, remains unchanged. However, Gauzy advances one spot by taking advantage of the points lost (280) by the South Korean An Jaehyun, the finalist last year in Taiyuan, to re-enter the Top 20, at 20th place. As the world team championships approach, starting at the end of April, the Top 6 remains the same.
Felix Lebrun also remains at rest after his elimination in the last 16 in the World Cup at the beginning of the month and therefore maintains the 6th position. Just outside the Top 5 still dominated by the Chinese Wang Chuqin, who had stopped the French number 1 in Macao, ahead of the Swede Truls Moregard (2nd), Calderano, who still completes the podium (3rd), the Japanese Tomokazu Harimoto (4th), and the other Chinese in this top table: Lin Shidong.
Further down the rankings, Thibaut Poret drops one spot and leaves the top 25 (26th).
