The match was a rematch of the recent Winter Olympics, where Italy had previously won decisively. This time, the French team managed to turn the tables and secure a crucial win.
The French team demonstrated their determination by equalizing the score throughout the game, eventually winning in the penalty shootout. The next match for the team is scheduled for Friday against China. In other results from the championship, Norway defeated China 4-0, while Slovakia defeated Hungary 2-0. Italy currently leads the standings with 7 points, followed closely by Slovakia and France with 6 points each. The top two teams will advance to the elite level, while the bottom team will be relegated to Division IB.
