On Monday, April 27, 2026, boxing gloves will be out at the Next Step club in Digne-les-Bains (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) for an exclusive women’s self-defense class in partnership with MMA Académie Dignois and Café du Cours. Starting at 6 p.m., this one and a half hour session aims to teach basic self-defense techniques to participants of all levels. Techniques such as different types of blocks and classic engagements will be demonstrated, along with practical scenarios and a briefing on self-defense.
With nearly 20 people already registered, including a 70-year-old woman, the diverse participants demonstrate a growing interest in this type of workshop. This is the first test class, and if well-received, it will be expanded in the future, according to Emilie Coccia, manager of Café du Cours.
