One response to the current environmental challenges is the association Climate 3 Frontiers. Over the past few years, they have organized several events, including the recent “Rendez-vous des possibles” in October 2025, which aimed to raise awareness about environmental, economic, and social issues of our time. Patricia Briday and Christine Obedia, members of Climate 3F, shared this information.
The experience of the recent “Rendez-vous des possibles” and a documentary screening highlighted the importance of using cinema as a platform for meaningful discussions, as noted by Katel Midavaine, the director of La Coupole cinema.
Moving forward, the cinema in Saint-Louis and Climate 3F are collaborating to offer regular bi-monthly events for the 2026-2027 season. This new initiative, called “Ciné des possibles,” will continue to promote open discussions and debates on various environmental topics. Patricia Briday emphasized the collaborative nature of this project involving multiple environmental associations.
The first event, scheduled for April 21st, features a pre-release screening of the film ‘Cocotte’ by Hungarian director György Pálfi. This film, suitable for audiences aged 8 and above, raises thought-provoking questions about industrial egg production and human behaviors. The choice of a family-friendly film during school holidays aims to engage a wider audience and spark curiosity.
Following ‘Cocotte,’ the next event on June 9th will focus on forests, trees, and biodiversity. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a free-range egg farmer from Richart-Schmidlin farm in Roppentzwiller, providing insights into daily practices and the intersection of animal agriculture and society.
The upcoming event on June 9th at La Coupole will involve yet another informative and engaging film selection, chosen in collaboration with Mélissa Muller from the Ville de Saint-Louis urban planning and ecological transition department, focusing on forests, trees, and biodiversity.
Interested individuals can attend the event on April 21st at La Coupole in Saint-Louis without prior reservation. The ticket price is fixed at 6 euros, and the evening will include a film screening followed by a discussion with a free-range egg farmer, Climate 3F representatives, and Katel Midavaine to provide diverse perspectives on the film.
