From April 22 to 24, 2026, Verrerie d’Alès, the national circus hub, will take over the Alès neighborhoods of Prés-Saint-Jean, Tamaris and Downtown for the 3rd edition of ColorCIRCus. Three afternoons of performances, workshops and creations, open to all, free and without reservation, to transform the city into a circus playground.
No need for a big top to experience the magic of the circus. In Alès, ColorCIRCus is installed in the open air: a Chinese pole here, a trampoline there, a truck that unfolds and apparatus that emerges in the middle of the squares. “And the city is no longer quite the same“, car “the circus is not only written in the rooms. It is also written in the street, the parks, the courtyards of buildings, within reach of those who live there, pass by and grow up.” Supported by Verrerie d’Alès and two companies – Charge Maximale de Rupture and Art&Co – the event also brings together around ten local structures (All Skate, Slackline for all, Maison de la Jeunesse, etc.) to offer skateboarding, slackline, trapeze, frescoes, radio set, virtual reality and much more.
Sequence shot on performances
This year, the festival is focusing on images and traces and invites you to film your performances. Tests, failures, successes… Everything can be captured, edited, broadcast. Participants become actors in their own story, with the added bonus of a photo competition organized by Ouverture Photos. The winner will see their photo become the poster for ColorCIRCus 2027. A raffle with the CFA Alès Cévennes Formation and an open pros/amateurs stage are planned for Friday April 24. ColorCIRCus will also be a taste of InCIRCus, whose 10th anniversary edition will be held on June 11, 12 and 13.
