PUBG: Battlegrounds finally introduces the highly anticipated Prop Hunt mode, but beware: it is only available for a limited time. Originally released in 2017 as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, PUBG quickly became one of the most popular battle royale games of all time, with over 75 million copies sold worldwide. The formula remains simple but addictive: players are parachuted onto a map and compete to be the last survivor.

Despite strong competition from titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, PUBG has maintained a solid player base thanks to regular updates and fresh content. Recently, developers hinted at a crossover with Stellar Blade, hinting at the arrival of the character Eve. With this enthusiasm, the team has now implemented one of the most requested features by the community.

Prop Hunt mode arrives in PUBG The new Prop Hunt mode is now available and will be from March 31 to April 7. This limited-time mode offers a hide-and-seek gameplay where players are divided into two roles: hunters and props. – Hunters must find and eliminate all disguised players before the time runs out. – Props transform into objects and try to remain hidden until the end of the round. Each match includes 12 players, with 9 playing as props and 3 as hunters. At the beginning of each round, players choose their preferred role.

The game follows a structured format. During the preparation phase, props receive a temporary speed boost to find hiding spots and camouflage themselves. Meanwhile, hunters are confined to a restricted area with limited visibility. Once the round starts, hunters explore the map, but be careful: touching non-props comes with a cost, as their health decreases.

To balance the forces, props have several abilities, including a paralyzing gun, a decoy, and a Prop switch, allowing them to disorient and escape from hunters. Towards the end of each round, Fever Time mode activates, offering hunters more powerful weapons and removing penalties for missed shots.

This mode is available on several maps, including Miramar, Rondo, and Vikendi, officially marking PUBG’s entry into the growing list of games offering Prop Hunt gameplay.

Reactions and community concerns On platforms like Reddit and Twitter, players’ reactions have been generally positive, with many welcoming this new mode. However, a demand arises frequently: fans want Prop Hunt to become a permanent feature rather than a temporary event. This mode has already brought back former players, showing its appeal.

Meanwhile, not everything is smooth sailing in the PUBG ecosystem. The spin-off PUBG: Blindspot struggled to find its audience due to criticisms of its lack of originality, technical issues, and overall disappointing gameplay experience. As a result, development studio Team ARC officially closed the game on March 30, 2026.

This decision has raised concerns about the future of another upcoming spin-off, PUBG: Black Budget, currently in development. For now, fans must wait to see which direction Krafton will choose for the franchise.
