The provincial Center for Culture and Sports was established by merging four public services: the provincial Museum and Library; the provincial Center for Music and Dance; the provincial Center for Culture and Cinema; and the Training and Sports Competition Center, under the auspices of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. It currently has seven specialized departments, including those of Music and Dance Center and Communication and Events, which directly participate in organizing performances.

Artist Lo Duc Thinh, director of the musical and choreographic center department, stated: “In addition to strengthening innovation and improving the quality of professional performances, the department actively collaborates with specialized services to develop artistic programs for major national and provincial events and anniversaries. It also coordinates the organization of performances and cultural promotion at the local level. This includes extending the duration of professional artistic performances, providing high-quality programs with strong artistic value for the public, thereby contributing to the cultural development of the population.”

Since the beginning of the year, the Center has revised and enriched 54 musical and choreographic works for thematic artistic programs and to complement politically-oriented programs. It has also organized 10 shows for provincial political issues and internal and external affairs, reaching over 32,000 spectators. The Center has finalized its plan to explore venues and organize a series of professional artistic performances, traveling film screenings, and street communication operations to celebrate major festivals and important events of 2026 in communities and neighborhoods. It aims to organize 60 local shows, including 45 professional artistic performances and 15 shows combining visual communication and promotion on specific themes.

Mr. Bac Cam Phat, head of the propaganda and events organization department, stated: “Thanks to the support of entertainment professionals, local propaganda programs are of better quality and attract the interest and support of a wide audience. At the same time, we are actively involved in advising, researching, and creating theater scripts and pieces on various themes, with innovative and more attractive formats, to make local propaganda programs more effective and relevant for the population.”

The seamless coordination between specialized departments ensures the harmonious and effective development of large-scale artistic programs. Starting from 2026, the Center has impressed with three major thematic artistic programs: “Proud of the Glorious Party”, celebrating the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party; “Son La – A Spring Song”; and “National Festival”, celebrating the success of the 16th National Assembly elections and the People’s Council elections at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Mr. Le Hong Quan, director of the provincial Center for Culture and Sports, said: “Regarding artistic activities, our organization has decided to strengthen coordination and mobilize the necessary resources for their implementation, especially for large-scale programs. At the same time, we are actively developing programs, plans, and scripts for performances closely related to provincial political issues and major national and local events. We constantly innovate and improve the quality and style of the content, to meet the public’s expectations regarding artistic entertainment and to make art a powerful and effective tool of communication, spreading humanistic values and a profound sense of life to the population.”

With unwavering dedication and overflowing creativity, these “culture warriors” continue tirelessly, unafraid to innovate, offering art that touches the heart of the public at each representation. Continuing their mission to bring beauty to the people, each show is not only a sublime demonstration of talent but also plays a crucial role in building a rich and vibrant cultural and spiritual life deeply rooted in the national identity of Son La province.
