Frédéric Massara, former sports director of Stade Rennais, is reportedly being considered by Marseille to replace Mehdi Benatia at the end of the season. The 57-year-old currently holds the position of sports director at AS Roma, but is expected to leave the club this summer.
According to reports, Federico Balzaretti, Marseille’s football director, has proposed Frédéric Massara’s name to the management. The Italian, who is close to Balzaretti and Benatia, is said to be very interested in joining Marseille and has already had discussions with the current sports director.
However, Marseille’s management has yet to take concrete steps in this matter. More updates to follow.
