Between two teams that had nothing left to hope for or fear, the force ultimately returned to the visitors on Saturday night at Ramier. An abundance of young players were fielded at kickoff due to the low stakes of this duel. The beginning of the match is credited to the Montalbanais who create the first opportunity with a fine shot from Yoan Baquie Constable at the edge of the penalty area, but the Muratian goalkeeper manages to make a beautiful save (7th minute). As the minutes pass, the exchanges balance out, with technical flaws and imprecisions on both sides. The opening goal comes towards the end of the first half, when Elhjboua Diakite recovers a poorly cleared ball by the captain Anicet Lasme before combining with Abdenaceur Tebabes Brahmi and finally hitting the target (41st). The two teams head to the locker rooms with a score of 0-1 in favor of the Haut-Garonnais at the end of a somewhat lethargic first half. The second half begins with much more intensity, the tone escalates and the tackles truly toughen. The visitors do not settle for their narrow lead and continue to attack, exemplified by Abdenaceur Tebabes Brahmi who finds himself alone against the Montalbanais goalkeeper Tom Gramaglia, but the latter makes a superb reflex save allowing his team to stay in the game (56th). Unfortunately, this is not enough to stop the Muratians who score again a few minutes later through Jean-René Bidi magnificently served by Dorian Cau (61), and further extend the lead shortly after by Abdenaceur Tebabes Brahmi despite another save from the Montalbanais goalkeeper (63rd). Deflated, the Tarn-et-Garonnais try to get back in the game and deserve credit for not giving up until the end of the match, but chances are far too rare to hope for a better outcome. On the contrary, they concede a final goal in the last minute of play by Dylan Terence Kinima Yewa, taking advantage of a poor clearance from Thomas Bardet, further worsening the score (90th) and adding to the heavy defeat for the Jean-Verbeke residents. Now, they will be visiting Fonsorbes next Saturday (6 p.m.).

Quotes:
Milan Calmels-Button: “We are inevitably disappointed tonight. We made too many mistakes which cost us the match. I find the score severe; honestly, it’s a blow to morale. Now we have two more matches to play, Fonsorbes and then Lourdes at home, we want to finish the season on a high note.” – A. L.
