47th President of the United States (2025 – 2029)
Donald Trump, born June 14, 1946 in New York, was the 45th president of the United States, in office from 2017 to 2021. Initially a businessman, he became the oldest president and the first to hold this office without political experience or military. Known for his style of governance marked by impactful communications, particularly on Twitter, he adopts divisive positions, such as restricting immigration, extending the wall to the Mexican border, withdrawing from the Paris climate agreements, and recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Economically, he reduced compulsory levies and started a trade war with China, with positive economic results before the Covid-19 pandemic. However, its management of this health crisis has earned it strong criticism, particularly after the withdrawal of the United States from the WHO.
Defeated by Joe Biden in 2020, Trump contested the results, multiplying appeals and making history with the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, which led to impeachment proceedings. After this first presidency, Trump is elected again in 2024 and becomes the 47th president of the United States, succeeding Joe Biden after a campaign against Kamala Harris.
