THE NEIGHBORHOOD SITS RIGHT IN BETWEEN THOMAS MORE UNIVERSITY AND THE CRESTVIEW HILLS SHOPPING CENTER. WLWT NEWS FIVE’S RICHARD CHILES IS LIVE AT THE SCENE RIGHT NOW. RICHARD, WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD FROM RESIDENTS THIS MORNING? WELL, GETTING A CHANCE TO TALK WITH NEIGHBORS THIS MORNING. THERE’S STILL NOT A LOT OF CLARITY ABOUT HOW THIS INCIDENT UNFOLDED. WHAT PRECIPITATED. WE DO KNOW THAT IT BEGAN AROUND 1110 LAST NIGHT, INVOLVING A LOT OF POLICE AGENCIES AND A LARGE POLICE RESPONSE. NOW IT’S VERY QUIET HERE THIS MORNING IN THIS CUL DE SAC COMMUNITY. VERY DIFFERENT SCENE THAN WHAT WE WITNESSED LAST NIGHT. TAKING A LOOK AT VIDEO PROVIDED BY VIEWERS, YOU GET AN IDEA OF WHAT THIS SCENE IS LIKE AS POLICE FROM KENTUCKY STATE POLICE, AS WELL AS KENTON COUNTY AND CRESTVIEW HILLS RESPONDING. THE SCENE FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE. AGAIN, THE. FRUSTRATING AS THEY TRY TO GET A CHANCE TO GET MORE INFORMATION. BUT THIS MORNING, REFLECTING ON WHAT THEY HEARD AND WITNESSED LAST NIGHT. WE WERE IN THE BASEMENT AND MY DAD OPENED THE BASEMENT DOOR AND SAID, DID YOU HEAR THE GUNSHOTS? AND I SAID, WHAT? AND SO WE RAN UP HERE AND THERE’S COP CARS EVERYWHERE. POLICE AGENCIES, VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THE INFORMATION THAT THEY ARE RELEASING. AGAIN, NOT SURPRISING IN THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT. CRESTVIEW HILLS POLICE ISSUING A STATEMENT SAYING THAT THERE WAS A USE OF FORCE INCIDENT INVOLVING TWO POLICE OFFICERS FROM THEIR DEPARTMENT. THERE IS AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION. IT’S NOT CLEAR AT THIS TIME WHETHER OR NOT ANY OFFICERS WERE HURT OR WHETHER THERE WAS ANY INJURY TO CIVILIANS, THE KENTUCKY STATE POLICE CONFIRMING AS WELL THAT THEIR AGENCY TAKING THE LEAD IN THIS INVESTIGATION, IT IS RUNNING OUT OF THE THE DRY RIDGE POST. University Circle is a residential street in Crestview Hills.
