CORTE – Two days of celebration for the carnival

After the school carnival in March (our photo) U Carnavale in Corti returns on April 25 and 26 for a new edition focused on celebration and conviviality. On the program: costumes, parades, live music, waiter race, giant puppets and floats will enliven the heart of the city. On Saturday, April 26, the Cours Paoli will be entirely pedestrianized to accommodate the day’s activities. On Sunday, April 27, the Cours Paoli will once again become pedestrianized and will serve as the setting for a grand parade, the highlight of the carnival.

TAGLIO-ISOLACCIO – Historian Johann Chapoutot for an exceptional conference on Hitler at Parc Galea

This Sunday, April 26, Parc Galea receives, at 3 p.m. for his major conference, Johann Chapoutot on “The rise of Hitler, when democracy gives in to fascism! “. From May 4 to 12, the new edition of Cine Donne will be held in Bastia. This festival, supported by the urban community, is betting on an event dedicated to women, to the evolution of their rights, to their representation and to their work which contribute to their emancipation and to awareness of discrimination and patriarchal modes of operation still anchored in our society. The demonstration will continue on the 11th in Furiani and the 12th in L’Isula. This 2026 edition is part of the activities of the Free Women project of the Interreg Italy-France Maritime Program 2021-2027. On the screening program, Les Rêveurs by Isabelle Carré, Vice Versa 2 from Pixar studios, Who Shines in Combat by Joséphine Japy but also two documentaries: Le Temps des femmes, by Karine Dusfour and Au Pouvoir et pregnant, by Saveria Rojek. The event welcomes Marlène Schiappa and Mélissa Theuriau as guests.

The CPIE Center Corse A Rinascita is organizing, with the Observatory-Conservatory of Insects of Corsica and the Grand Site de France de la Conca d’Oru, the 3rd edition of the 24H Naturalistes on April 25 and 26 in Conca d’Oru. During a weekend, amateur naturalists and experts carry out biodiversity inventories in small groups in order to observe, identify and note species. The objective is to share knowledge, strengthen naturalist skills, improve knowledge of the territory and create a network of naturalists in Corsica. The data collected will be integrated into the regional and national SINP. The program alternates day and night prospecting, collective assessments and convivial moments (welcome coffee, aperitif, shared meal). Registration is free for one day or the whole weekend.

FURIANI/BASTIA – Concerts to benefit the Téléthon and Marie-Do

The Sainte Marie Cathedral in Bastia opens its doors this Friday, April 24 for a charity polyphony and Gospel concert organized for the benefit of Marie Do, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with the group Isulatine and Corsica Gospel.

Concert at the Furiani cinema on Thursday April 30 at 8 p.m. with Thomas Bronzini De Caraffa and his musicians, accordionist Armand Paoli and his quartet, Yoann Casanova, Jean-Charles Avazeri and his team and the Nostalgik. Proceeds donated to the Telethon.
