During the months of May and June, the themes chosen for the children who attend the MJC leisure center are trip to the tropics for PS-GS, trip to Europe for CP-CE1 and Flower Power for CE2-CM2. During this first recreational Wednesday of the month of May, a workshop on creating a flower necklace in the morning and an introduction to Hawaiian dance in the afternoon were offered to PS-GS, a creation of the Eiffel Tower for CP-CE1 and the pursuit of the flower totem for CE2-CM2. The facilitators took the children into the world of Hawaiian dance. Hula, with its roots in the ancient traditions of the Hawaiian Islands, with its graceful movements and symbolism, is a cultural and spiritual expression. Every gesture and every item of clothing tells a story, creating a connection with ancestors and nature. The first hula dancers would have been inspired by the surrounding nature: the waves of the ocean, the blowing of the wind or the movement of the trees. On the program for Wednesday, May 13, a decoration of cocktail glasses in the morning and an introduction to yoga in the afternoon will be organized for the little ones, while the 6-8 year olds will go in search of the Pillywiggins (Ireland) and the 9-11 year olds will be introduced to music with the fury of flowers.

Information for children is available on 05 65 42 30 33 or on accueil@mjcllp.fr and, for the youth area, on 06 74 50 74 61.
