Vladimir Putin accuses Ukraine supporters of prolonging the conflict. “They have started to escalate the confrontation with Russia, which continues to this day. I think it is coming to an end, but the situation remains serious,” he responded on Saturday, May 9, to a question about whether Western aid to Ukraine was going too far.
Russia and Ukraine accused each other on Saturday of violating the temporary ceasefire, with Vladimir Putin stating that he still has not received a proposal from Ukraine on the prisoner exchange announced by Donald Trump. The American president announced a three-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia starting on Saturday.
However, “since the beginning of the day, the number of attacks carried out by the aggressor has reached 51,” as reported by the Ukrainian military. On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that “despite the ceasefire declaration, Ukrainian armed groups have launched attacks using drones and artillery.” Drones launched by Russia killed two civilians and injured three in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions in central Ukraine, according to local authorities.
