The contemporary art center, Hangar Blanc, located in Carcassonne, is finishing its first cycle of exhibitions with a final cultural event, until September 30, 2026, focusing on three women artists and photography.

It is a more minimalist exhibition than the previous ones which began on June 11, with its opening, at the Hangar Blanc in Carcassonne. But this new cultural time within this contemporary art center also allows you to take your time in front of each work on display.

Open since September 2025, this place dedicated to culture is completing its first cycle of exhibitions whose theme was celebration. Thus, as part of this latest exhibition entitled “Body/Machines, the popular sublime”, three artists are exhibiting at the Hangar Blanc. They are Pauline Rousseau, Louise Mutrel and Shari Petti.

Each of them has a well-defined style. Pauline Rousseau and Louise Mutrel turned to photography but in completely different worlds. Regarding the first, she exhibits her “Muscle” series, which began in 2022, and pursues different questions linked to representations of masculinity and virility.

For her part, Louise Mutrel highlights a Japanese community little known to the French: the dekotora. This is a group of people who were inspired by thedecorated trucksAmericans who customize their trucks. “They are prohibited from driving because it is too dangerous”specifies Adalaïs Choy-Descamps, manager of Hangar Blanc.

Another artist that we can discover: Shari Petti. A director, she is driven by a desire to give voice to under-represented people. In a small space designed in the exhibition, the White Hangar allows you to see the video work produced by Shari Petti on her Trinidadian origins.

A new cycle of exhibitions next September

After working on the theme of the festival, the Hangar Blanc will start a new cycle of exhibitions from the start of the 2026 school year. It will focus on plants. Notably because the art center was a winner, with local artist Prune Phi, of the state “Green Residences” program. The latter makes it possible to support artists who are working on the ecological transition.

In this case, Prune Phi works on the rice plant and will be in residence throughout 2027 at the Hangar Blanc before exhibiting in the cultural venue.

Another event is coming: in the coming months, a meeting will be planned to celebrate the first anniversary of this site whose exhibitions are free.

The new Hangar Blanc exhibition will end on September 30, 2026. It can be discovered from Wednesday to Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
