After that of Fontaine-Chaalis on Sunday, another crop fire occurred in Saint-Martin-le-Nœud (Oise) at the beginning of the afternoon while the harvest was in full swing in the middle of a heatwave.

It was just 2 p.m. this Monday, June 22, when the alert was given. An impressive plume of smoke rose along departmental road 35, in the town of Saint-Martin-le-Nœudsouth of Beauvais. Quickly on the scene, a unit specializing in forest fires from the Oise firefighters had to fight to slow down the course of the fire and the flames, fanned by the wind.

The progression of the fire was stopped before it spread to neighboring plots: in total, the fire still covered 2.5 hectares of alfalfa. (a little more than at Fontaine-Chaalis on Sunday afternoon). Three lances were necessary to overcome the last hot spots and avoid any resumption.
