As a reminder, it was originally a response from the Reds to the launch of Alder Lake… And what a response! This processor popularized 3D V-Cache because of the massive gains it brought in video games. If you only plan on gaming, the 5800X3D is the best in AM4.

As a reminder, with this processor AMD offered us a model with eight cores and 16threads based on the Zen 3 architecture. The whole featured frequencies of 3.4 GHz base with a turbo at 4.5 GHz. But the particularity of this model: it is the 3D V-Cache. In fact, this is the very firstCPU to have this type of L3 cache. In total, it therefore carries 96 MB of L3 thanks to the 32 MB base which constitutes its onlyCCD which is added to the 64 MB of the 3D V-Cache.
Unfortunately, AMD quickly withdrew its processor from sale once the launch of the Ryzen 7000 was completed. But with the soaring prices ofDDR5AMD must react in AM4 and is therefore working to relaunch thisCPU via a 10th Anniversary edition in commemoration ofsocket AM4, the packaging photo of which can be seen above. In fact, there is nothing that changes except the presence of an insert: “10 years AMD AM4 Anniversary Edition ».
A regional or global launch?Â
But the big question, which still remains unanswered, concerns the geography of this launch. Indeed, we still do not know if this version should see the light of day globally or if it will only be a launch in the most promising markets such as China or Latin America for example. It would be a shame if we didn’t have the right to it, especially when we know that the top sellers of CPU on Amazon France, it was the Ryzen 7 5800X…
