What’s changed with today’s Fortnite patch notes? Right now, the game is just days away from its biggest Fortnite esports event in 2026 so far. Plus, a new season beginning soon. But Epic still making a few changes to the game in-between. They’ve made some important last minute balancing changes to the Fortnite patch notes.

With the FNCS Summit 1 LAN coming soon, the game’s balance is much more important than ever. With the most recent Fortnite patch notes there’s been some important changes. Some of the most over-tuned weapons are getting reined back in. There are also some changes to some weapons that’ll be unvaulted later in the season.
Outside of the balancing changes, we can probably expect the Fortnite patch notes to have included some data under the hood. Each update brings new content for dataminers to go through. With leaks of what’s coming soon. This time, that could include a ton of information on the next Fortnite live event. This is what’s changed in today’s Fortnite patch notes:
Fortnite Patch Notes Today – Balancing Changes
The biggest part of the new update has been a balancing patch. These are the big alterations we’ve seen so far to this part of the game.
- Exotic Recon Bow – Projectile Hitbox increased to make shots hit more often
- Pulse Pistols – Do more damage at range and reload faster
- Overdrive Pulse Rile – Smaller magazine size
- Twin Mag SMG – Bigger magazine size
- Hammer Revolver – Increased damage
- Assault Rifle – Headshot multiplier reduced
- Finger Guns – Do less damage

These changes are a bit of a mixed bag. The changes to the Pulse Pistols are particularly confusing. These weapons, if anything, do too much damage at range and are too fast. This change will overpower them even more. Elsewhere though, the changes make a bit more sense. The Overdrive Rifle is due a bigger nerf but this is a good start.
The Hammer Revolver has been effectively useless. but this change will at least try to make it a little better balanced. The Finger guns might be confusing at first too, since they were only in the game for April Fool’s Day. However, they’ll be returning at the very end of the Fortnite season. This nerf in the Fortnite patch notes makes them a little less obnoxious.
Other Changes in the Fortnite Patch Notes
The other major changes is the leaks that we’ve seen. We’ve had quite a few bits of news about what’s coming in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. Mainly, the theme is going to be Runners. What exactly that means is still a mystery.
We’ve also seen the terabyte textures re-added to the game. This aligns with a feature that’s coming back to OG soon, a huge collect-a-thon in the older Season 9. This will probably be repeated when this Fortnite season comes to OG.

Th leaks have also confirmed that there will be a special prize for players attending the live event. This will credit once C7 S3 actually starts.
That’s everything in today’s Fortnite patch notes. This is probably going to be one of the last updates to the game before the season ends and we move on to something new.
