SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) — Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang concluded his five-day visit to South Korea on Tuesday, which focused on expanding partnerships with South Korean tech giants in the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem.
The entrepreneur departed via Gimpo International Airport in western Seoul, calling his trip “very good” and highlighting the strong partnerships Nvidia has built with Korean companies.
Huang recalled several key announcements he made during his visit, including a multi-year technology partnership with SK Group and collaborations for AI in cloud computing with Naver and SK Telecom.
Asked if he planned to return to South Korea, the Nvidia boss joked that “my pork barbecue and fried chicken friends need a rest,” before adding that he hopes to return to discuss future cooperation.
During his stay in Seoul, Huang met with SK Group boss Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group CEO Euisun Chung, LG Group leader Koo Kwang-mo and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin. He also met with Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyung-hoon and heads of start-ups specializing in online games and robotics, as well as researchers, as part of efforts to deepen cooperation in South Korea’s AI ecosystem.
