DJI is suing Insta360 for patent infringement regarding the Osmo Pocket.

DJI has filed two complaints against Arashi Vision Inc. One of the complaints concerns two design patents, the other four invention patents.

DJI says the Insta360 Luna Pro and Luna Ultra copy the structure of the Osmo Pocket, from its elongated design and rotating screen to details like the scroll wheel and accessory slot. Additionally, DJI alleges that the Insta360 infringes critical technologies such as live gimbal control, integrated object tracking, and real-time display without an external app.

DJI is seeking a permanent injunction, damages in an amount at least equivalent to reasonable royalties, and forfeiture of profits. This isn’t the first time DJI has sued Insta360; the company had already accused it of counterfeiting its drone image processing technology.

More than 400 Arch Linux AUR packages have been infected with malware.

On June 12, the Arch Linux community was surprised to learn that over 400 software packages from the Arch User Repository (AUR) had been compromised and infected with malware. This was a large-scale campaign targeting user-contributed packages and did not affect the official Arch Linux repository.

As soon as the problem was discovered, administrators proceeded to delete and reinstall all malicious content, as well as locking the affected accounts. Detailed discussions about the affected packages were posted on the Arch Linux mailing list and the CachyOS forum, highlighting the severity of the incident.

This incident highlights the security risks linked to the use of AUR, the control of which is less rigorous than that of the official deposit. Users are advised to carefully check the source code and content before installation to avoid any risk of exploitation.
