Ti ar vro Bro Pondi, house of Breton culture in Pontivy, brought together the members and members of its office, Wednesday April 22, 2026, for the annual general meeting. Mannaïg Le Dortz, coordinator, and Carine Henri, co-president, presented the moral and financial reports and the 2026 projects. The new culture assistant, Caroline Jégado, introduced the session: “Your role is precious, your actions are concrete. Thanks to you, regional culture and language are alive and well. We are aware of your action, we will be at your side.”
The return of Breton evening classes
In 2025, Ti ar vro Bro Pondi brings together 49 individual associations and 29 member associations. The actions are divided into four points: communication, mediation, events and support. “On communication, we find our website, the monthly letter with 800 contacts, we are present on social networks, we use posters, brochures and leaflets, send targeted emails and contact the written press. In 2026, this will still be the case.”
Concerning the mediation component, the current Breton courses are maintained this year. The reopening of evening classes is also planned in Baud, Cléguérec, Locminé, Loudéac and Mûr-de-Bretagne. Monthly activities in Breton, such as talks, are maintained, the same goes for readings for children, intensive training, the search for premises and the possibility of one-week Breton courses.
Redadeg et cinéma en breton
At the cinema, two films are translated into Breton. “460 students from fifteen schools benefit from it. In 2026, there will be 571,” says the co-president. In June, a new artistic and cultural education (EAC) booklet will be produced by Pontivy Communaté. College projects are extended. Finally, the Redadeg will take place on May 13: an open-air fest-noz is planned at the Palais des Congrès in Pontivy and the passage of the race will take place at half past midnight, between May 13 and 14.
