PUBG update 41.1 hits hard by introducing a new cooperative roguelite mode in the face of an alien threat. Between the highly anticipated crossover with Stellar Blade, the return of the aespa group and the arrival of destructible terrain on Erangel, the battlefields will shake.

While he celebrated his 9th birthday last month,PUBG continues to be updated, this time with version 41.1 which marks a major turning point for Krafton’s famous Battle Royale. This new version deploys an arsenal of new features that promise to redefine the survival experiencemixing science fiction, prestigious collaborations and profound tactical adjustments.

An alien threat descends on Miramar with Xeno Point

The big addition of this patch is undoubtedly the arrival of Xeno Point, a cooperative PvE game mode with roguelite accents. Players are invited to repel an alien invasion on the map of Miramar, immersed for the occasion in an atmosphere of cosmic horror. This mode breaks with the classic formula by offering randomly generated levels and a character progression system.

Survivors start in a central hub before heading out to complete missions in various regions. The final objective is to defeat a formidable boss called the Architect. To achieve this, it is possible to personalize your playing style thanks to specific skills focused on attack, defense or support. KRAFTON also specifies the intentions behind this new mode:

Xeno Point combines the realistic combat of PUBG with alien enemies, abilities and technologies, providing a different experience in every playthrough.

EVE of Stellar Blade and the return of aespa

The other major event of this update is the much-noticed crossover with the action game Stellar Blade. The protagonist EVE integrates the Workshop system as the ultimate Pretender. This feature allows players to unlock and customize premium outfits. EVE benefits from a unique visual progression, her outfits and hairstyle evolving throughout the levels. Fans will be able to wear his iconic costume and use various themed cosmetics.

At the same time, the publisher listened to the community by reintroducing the collaboration with the famous K-pop group aespa. From April 22 to 30, players will have a new opportunity to acquire outfits, emotes and weapon skins inspired by the South Korean quartet.

Destruction of land and overhaul of the arsenal

In terms of gameplay, the historic Erangel map finally benefits from the destructible terrain functionality. Using explosives or a pickaxe, players can now dig trenches to create makeshift shelters. This tactical novelty is accompanied by the introduction of two weapon modules, the hybrid scope, allowing you to instantly switch between single and quadruple magnification, and the angled grip, designed to better control recoil.

The developers have also revised the balancing of certain weapons, notably the Dragunov whose recoil has been considerably reduced. However, a more radical announcement was made regarding the future of the arsenal. From June, several little-used weapons will be removed from the game, such as the Mosin Nagant, the DP-28 and the P1911.

Finally, new strategic mechanics appear, such as the distress rocket allowing defensive supply drops to be called, or the possibility of sacrificing enemy blue chips at the level of transmission towers to obtain equipment.

All of this is already available on PC, and will arrive on April 16 on consoles.
