The promise of AI teammates capable of understanding the player’s voice finally leaves the demonstrations and enters a real game. But in PUBG: Battlegroundsthis new feature arrives with a very concrete constraint: you will need a fairly solid GeForce RTX to benefit from it.
PUBG NVIDIA ACE debuts in a temporary mode
With update 42.1, PUBG: Battlegrounds introduced Ally Duoa new time-limited Arcade mode on the jungle map Sanhok. The principle is simple: the player is accompanied by a partner driven by AI, based on technology NVIDIA ACE.

NVIDIA had already demonstrated this approach more than a year ago with Ellaa companion capable of responding in natural language to voice instructions. In this demo, the ally could guide the player, provide gameplay information, scout resources or vehicles, bring a vehicle to the location, detect and engage enemies, and then help mount more coordinated attacks.
Ella and fashion Ally Duo remain in beta for the moment. The test window is short: availability of the June 17 to July 1 only.
Material prerequisites far from being anecdotal
The most striking point is elsewhere: this mode necessarily imposes a GPU NVIDIA RTXthe AI being processed locally. The minimum announced is one GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or a RTX 3060 8 GBaccompanied by 16 GB de mémoire système.
The recommended configuration goes up to a GeForce RTX 4070 with 24GB RAM. Players will also need to activate the hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling if the option is not already enabled in Windows.
An experiment that tests both the use and the machine
The subject goes beyond the simple gadget. In recent months, NVIDIA, Ubisoft et Take-Two have all shown their interest in teammates or AI-enhanced NPCs, with the idea of more natural conversations and more contextual actions in play.
In the case of PUBG, the experimentation above all shows the technical cost of an onboard and reactive AI. If the idea is attractive on paper, the requested specifications remind us that a credible local voice companion still remains a premium function, even in a beta phase and for a limited period.
This logic of extending the PUBG universe is also seen in its hardware variations, such as the Razer range of peripherals designed for PUBG: Battlegrounds, which translates the popularity of the game down to the dedicated keyboards, mice and headsets.
