On the occasion of the Summer at Louvre event, the open-air cinema is returning to the Cour carrée from July 1st to 4th.

As is the tradition for the past six years, the Louvre Museum, in collaboration with MK2, presents Cinema Paradiso. For four days, from July 1st to 4th, 2026, the festival offers evenings with the “best of cinema, music” under the stars. Danish-Swedish filmmaker, Joachim Trier, who won an Oscar in 2026 for directing “The Worst Person in the World,” will honor his presence during the screening of his film “Julie” in the Louvre’s Cour carrée.

The organizers aim to make the event as accessible as possible with a “hybrid program blending heritage cinema and contemporary works, musical performances, and artist encounters.” The complete schedule of films to be screened will be revealed in June.

The Cinema Paradiso Louvre opens its doors for free. However, to have a chance at securing one of the 15,000 seats, you must register for the online lottery. Three draws will take place in June 2026, but pre-registrations are already open.

The Cinema Paradiso is part of the third edition of the Summer at Louvre event, which runs from June 21 to July 20. Through this event, the world’s largest museum celebrates art and culture with the creation of immersive events combining heritage and contemporary elements.
